Chicago St Bernard Rescue – Priscilla
It is true, there was a Chicago St Bernard Rescue this week at ROMP and because of it -Miss Priscilla is now still alive and with a wonderful family! Priscilla found her way into a kill shelter after her owners could no longer care for her, through no fault of her own. Because she’s 7 years old and a very large dog (nearly 120lbs), Miss Priscilla was quickly put at the top of the euthanize list despite being up-to-date on shots, spayed, raised by her last family since she was a puppy, and obviously very friendly. No worries though, we scooped her up and she made her way to ROMP this past weekend. AND… we found her a forever home too! It was off for some groomer pampering on 10/29 at Temple of the Dog & Meow Lounge then she joined her new family later that day! ♥
Miss Priscilla enjoying herself at the groomers!
Below is a photo of Tara from Temple of the Dog and Meow lounge. She gave Priscilla the princess treatment – mud mask, aloe, essential oils, lavender and more all to help with her skin. She left feeling like a new pup! Thanks Tara!
This wonderful volunteer took Miss Priscilla and a handful of other pups from the kill shelter in Southern Illinois to the various rescues that were taking them in. There is a lot of time, effort, and energy among other things that goes into rescuing pups!
This is Priscilla with her new fur sister named Murphy (weighing in at 152 lbs) and her new mom, dad, and human brother too! She is doing well at her new home and it is as if she lived there her whole life – she is a very happy girl!
